Force Protection

 

 

The Tactical Operations Division of Overwatch Protection Solutions International, provides force protection to the US Government, Military and Corporate entities operating in hostile areas or areas afflicted by disaster of either man-made or natural origin.

What is Force Protection?
Force Protection is the protection of workforce personnel (military or civilian), equipment and supplies, during deployment in hostile areas or in areas afflicted by natural disaster and the associated chaos that inevitably follows.

 

There are three main elements to Force Protection:

 

  • Protective Security Detachment (PSD)
  • Static Site / Perimeter Security
  • Convoy Security

 

 

Protective Security Detachment

Whenever a member of any workforce is required to travel from one place to another, within a hostile environment, the need for PSD teams or Protective Security Detachment teams, arises.  Overwatch employs only the most highly trained PSD operators who have attained the highest levels of proficiency in bodyguarding.  Our operators are trained to advanced level and beyond in the six main skill sets that are required for bodyguard work:

 

  • Protective Escort - Formations and Drills
  • Protective Driving
  • Close Quarters Combat (Defensive/ Combative Tactics utilized whilst in close proximity of the principle)
  • Communications and Counter Surveillance
  • Counter IED / Anti-Terrorism
  • Emergency Trauma Management/ Life Support

 

Many of our PSD operators have extensive experience in theatres such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Central America, South America, etc and have worked on details involving government dignitaries, foreign diplomats, military commanders and civilians alike.


Our Force Protection teams will provide round the clock protection, ensuring that our clients workforces can operate in a safer environment. We employ state of the art counter-measures coupled with aggressive, pro-active measures designed to deter and counter any terrorist attack on our clients base of operations.

Convoy Security

Whether your convoy is carrying personnel or supplies, Overwatch's force protection services will be there to assure the safety of the entire convoy.  Meticulous planning, coupled with the employment of tried and trusted immediate action drills and countermeasures will ensure that your vehicles get through to where they are needed.

 

 

Static Site / Perimeter Security

The effective provisioning of perimeter security involves much more than simply placing a few 'guards' on a fence line...  ...perimeter security as provided by Overwatch incorporates the following elements:

  • ECP - Control of Entry
  • IED Search Teams - to search vehicles AND frequent building/ area searches
  • QRF - to react as necessary to any situation requiring use of force.
  • Mounted and Foot Patrols - to observe, detect and deter incursion by any unauthorized party.
  • Support Weapons Team - to provide medium to heavy weapons support during attacks on site.
  • Command Center Personnel - to coordinate the entire security mission from a central command post.

 

Currently, Overwatch employs several elite, Disaster Recovery Protection Units (DPRU's) comprising of between 6 and 8 PSD (Protective Security Detachment) specialists.  These teams are available for rapid deployment anywhere in the world.  Due to the problems posed by flying our teams into the Gulf Coast (inability to carry large amounts of necessary equipment, etc) our teams are deployed by road and can arrive onsite with all the necessary equipment and supplies to be almost totally self sufficient within 72 hours of activation.
